Roleplaying Tips is a weekly email newsletter by Johnn Four that’s been going since 1999! Eight years is certainly nothing to sneeze at and well worth your time. He just published #383: part 1 of Jail Design. If you’re a newcomer to his site, the archives alone will give you weeks of ideas and fun! There’s something here for players and GMs alike.

He gives ideas for a variety of ways to use glowing things in encounters but my favorite is the chest made of solid light. He comments, “I’d bet my next round of XPs that no one will want to touch it before at least some honest research is done.” I agree! And I’ve got to admit, I’d be laughing my ass off while I watched the PCs deal with it, too!
